
Film making is one of the most prominent opportunities a person can get, the film industry is one of the expanding industries in the world, the average box office collection for a movie nowadays is greater compared to the late 70s and 80s, moreover, the advancement of movies is enormous than the past by the means of equipment’s, software and costs. Moreover, the highest-paid actor in the world according to reports from 2018 stated, (Dwayne Johnson, he gets up to 124 million US dollars) and the highest-grossing film of 2018 was a Black Panther with the box office collection of 700.06 million.
It is obvious for one to plan and prepare before executing a big task, as far as the need to plan before taking on a 120-minute movie, so for output, we need good plans and deep research. When I started my AS- Level coarse-work to work on I lacked on planning so it was a big confusion however somehow I contrived to complete the task, the one thing I would not repeat in A- levels is that executing work without research.
A good filmmaker will have a good plan and greatest of them utilize shot list for devising
The shot list denotes- Description of shots, subject, shot types, pieces of equipment, location, shot time and numbers of takes, this planning will help filmmakers to have a reference when shooting their film and this will also depreciate the wastage of time since time is valuable
Various filmmakers were good planners and many have proclaimed that it is highly essential to plan before working on something big
Stanley Kubrick an American film director, screenwriter, and producer once said
“IF IT CAN BE WRITTEN OR THOUGHT IT CAN BE FILMED”
and there is always a saying- “Time and tide waits for none”
